@Wobblyhannahtotherescue: Hannah and Coda

How it began...

Hannah is a 6-year-old Pitbull Terrier mix with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which is a neurological condition where the cerebellum is not fully developed. This largely controls motor functioning- balance, coordination, and knowing where your body is. Hannah uses a wheelchair for short periods of adventures and exercise, but most often gets around in her own way (scoots, lunges, crawls- similar to a child that hasn’t learned to walk yet).

Hannah spent her first 3 years in foster and rescue care without a furever home. This was due largely to her disability and the amount of hands-on support she needed in her daily life. She came to her furever home in November 2019. She has a wheelchair she uses outside on adventures and enjoys wobbly walking and crawling on her own on soft surfaces (she’s very independent and stubborn, in a pleasant way!). She LOVES wagon rides! Hannah works hard every day, and even goes swimming and to acupuncture every week. There is no "bad days" in Hannah's company. #HappyLikeHannah is their motto!

She has made a best friend, also known as her fur-brother, Coda. These two are inseparable. Coda seemed to know exactly how to love & include Hannah in everything as soon as they met. Their bond is so special to witness.

Hannah's family loves sharing her joy with others and hopes that more families consider adopting dogs like her to see for themselves how worthy and amazing they are.

Hannah and Coda's Rescue of Choice:

Albert’s Dog Lounge

An elderly dachshund named Albert inspired this rescue to become what it is today. As a tribute to Albert, the rescue would do even more to help senior dogs and hospice pets like the little one who had so greatly enriched their lives. In late 2017, Albert's Dog Lounge transitioned from a foster space in a converted garage to a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue. Within the first year, the small team rescued fifty (50) seniors, special needs, and hospice dogs.

Rescue Tale will donate 10% of proceeds to Albert's Dog Lounge.
